Minehut SMP: A Free Minecraft SMP for Java and Bedrock
Join a free public Minecraft SMP with a coin economy, player Auction House, Crates, and full Java and Bedrock crossplay. No whitelist, no application.
What is Minehut SMP?
Minehut SMP is a classic Minecraft Survival Multiplayer with a custom Coin economy layered on top.
- Build and survive together. A shared world, no minigames, no time limits, no resets. Thousands of long-term players treat the SMP like home.
- Earn Coins. Sell drops to the Flower, Mason, and Lumber NPC merchants, or trade with players on the Auction House.
- Town hub, open Overworld. Spawn and Town are fully protected. Step outside and you're in PvP-enabled survival with no claim protection, so build smart.
- Open Crates, chase leaderboards. Earn Keys in-game, spend Gems on cosmetics, and climb public leaderboards for balance and playtime.
- Play anywhere, for free. Java on PC, plus Bedrock on iOS and Android phones and tablets, share the same world.
What makes Minehut SMP different
Player-driven coin economy
Earn Coins by selling drops to the Flower, Mason, and Lumber NPC merchants. Send /pay to friends and check /baltop to see who's running the market.
Player Auction House
List rare drops, event loot, and bulk resources for other players to bid on. The same auction house serves both Java and Bedrock players.
Crates, keys, and cosmetics
Open Crates with Keys earned in-game or as event rewards. Spend Gems on cosmetics through the Gem Merchant to make your character your own.
Four worlds to explore
A protected Town hub for trading and socialising, an open Overworld with PvP enabled, plus full Nether and End access. /rtp drops you somewhere fresh.
Crossplay with phones and tablets
Play with friends on PC, plus iOS and Android phones and tablets. Java and Bedrock share the same world through GeyserMC.
Seasonal events and leaderboards
Recurring in-game events drop limited-time loot. Climb the public leaderboards for balance, playtime, and event placements.
Frequently asked questions
How do I join the Minehut SMP server?
Java: open Minecraft, add the server smp.minehut.com (or connect via the Minehut lobby at mc.minehut.com and run /server town-1). Bedrock: add smp.bedrock.minehut.com with port 19132 in the Servers tab. Both editions land in the same world.
Is Minehut SMP free?
Yes, completely free. Sign in with any legitimate Minecraft account, Java or Bedrock. No subscription, no payment, no application.
Is there a whitelist or do I need to apply?
No. Minehut SMP is a fully public server — anyone with a legitimate Minecraft account can join immediately, no application or whitelist.
Can I play on Bedrock?
Yes — Minecraft Bedrock on iOS, Android, and Windows works. Connect to smp.bedrock.minehut.com on port 19132. Bedrock players land in the same world as Java players via crossplay. Consoles aren't officially supported.
What Minecraft version do I need?
You don't need a specific version. Minehut SMP supports a wide range of Minecraft Java and Bedrock clients through ViaVersion and ViaBackwards, so most modern clients can connect. We recommend updating to the latest stable release for the best experience.
Is the Overworld safe? Can I get griefed?
Spawn and the Town hub are fully protected, with no PvP and no block-breaking. Once you step into the open Overworld, PvP is enabled and there is no default griefing protection. Build smart, watch chat, and use /sethome to mark a safe place to return to.
How does the economy work?
The in-game currency is Coins. Check your balance with /balance, send Coins to friends with /pay, and see the richest players with /baltop. Sell drops to the admin shop (/shop) or NPC merchants for steady income, or list rare items on the Auction House for player-to-player trades.
How do I make my own SMP server on Minehut?
Minehut hosts community SMP servers free of charge. Click Log in at the top of any Minehut page, then create a server in under a minute and invite friends. See /server-plans for paid tiers.
